Join Patricia Gawle and don Luis Solorio in the Cool Mountain Village of El Tuito. Learn to identify and dig your own clay, crush the natural clay for use and combine with natural river sand and local pigments. Follow along with your own piece as don Luis instructs thru example, the ancient techniques of his ancestors. Learn to form the clay using very few tools, see how pigments are turned into ceramic paints and applied to finished work and burnished. See Luis's hand-built, wood-fueled kilns and maybe even experience the flavor of his "Pollo Borracho" cooked in the mouth of the kiln during a firing!
